Secret Journey to Planet Serpo: A True Story of Interplanetary Travel, by Len Kasten

Documents how 12 people, as part of a top-secret U.S. government program, traveled to the planet Serpo and lived there for 13 years

• Based on the debriefing of the Serpo team and the diary of the expedition’s commander

• Explains how the aliens helped us reverse-engineer their antigravity spacecraft and develop technology to solve our planet-wide energy problems

• Reveals how our government has an ongoing relationship with the Serpo aliens

On July 16, 1965, a massive alien spacecraft from the Zeta Reticuli star system landed at the Nevada test site north of Las Vegas. Following a plan set in motion by President Kennedy in 1962, the alien visitors known as the Ebens welcomed 12 astronaut-trained military personnel aboard their craft for the 10-month journey to their home planet, Serpo, 39 light-years away. In November 2005, former and current members of the Defense Intelligence Agency--directed by Kennedy to organize the Serpo exchange program--came forward to reveal the operation, including details from the 3,000-page debriefing of the 7 members of the Serpo team who returned after 13 years on the planet.

Working with the DIA originators of the Serpo project and the diary kept by the expedition’s commanding officer, Len Kasten chronicles the complete journey of these cosmic pioneers, including their remarkable stories of life on an alien planet, superluminal space travel, and advanced knowledge of alien technologies. He reveals how the Ebens presented the U.S. with “The Yellow Book”--a complete history of the universe recorded holographically, allowing the reader to view actual scenes from pre-history to the present. He explains how the Ebens helped us reverse-engineer their antigravity spacecraft and develop technology to solve our planet-wide energy problems--knowledge still classified.

Exposing the truth of human-alien interaction and interplanetary travel, Kasten reveals not only that the Ebens have returned to Earth eight times but also that our government continues to have an ongoing relationship with them--a relationship with the potential to advance the human race into the future.

Review
“I cannot overemphasize the importance of this book. Kasten has cast the bright light of scholarship on a subject that cries for understanding and will change our world and everything that we have come to believe about ourselves and our place in the universe. The shocking truth is, we are not alone and have never been alone.” (Robert O. Dean, Command Sgt. Major, U.S. Army, retired)

“Len Kasten’s work is abundant ad infinitum with similar and truthful mind bending revelations known only to insiders; this is a monumental accomplishment. No Ufology’s library is complete without Secret Journey to Planet Serpo. The book is a masterpiece!! Rating: 5 Stars all the way.” (Art, UFOs, and Supernatural Magazine, August 2013)

“Secret Journey to Planet Serpo was a ‘mind-blower’ for me. A well-written, easy read, with numerous b&w illustrations and 27 colour plates, I think it will test your powers for discerning its credibility and make you begin to wonder what else of monumental importance is being withheld from the citizens of earth.” (Alan Glassman, New Dawn, November 2013)

Chapter 12
Confrontation

Following the death of team member 308, the Ebens took control of the body without explanation. Upon arrival, the team commander requested the body of 308 and was told that was not possible. In this diary entry, the commander relates how his attempt to retrieve the body escalated into a tense confrontation.

The Body of Team Member 308
The leader of the Ebens is a larger creature than the others. He is more aggressive and seems to be the boss, similar to me, as the team commander. The leader has requested many things from us, most of which we have provided. However, they took 308’s body--that was without my approval. When we finally learned the location of 308’s body and traveled to the building where it was stored, we were confronted by several Ebens. Ebe1 showed up, and I explained that we wanted the body of 308. Ebe1 told us the body was in storage, and we could not take it. We told Ebe1 that we will take it. The eleven of us walked by the Ebens, numbering six, and walked into the building. They did not attempt to stop us. Once inside, we could not open any of the containers. We did find the container housing 308’s body. We decided to send 899 to our storage area to get some explosives to open the container. Ebe2 showed up with the leader. Ebe2 was extremely polite and asked us to wait. She used the word “please” several times. In fact, she actually used the English word “beg.”

We backed off and I told Ebe2 that we wanted our friend’s body and we wanted to examine it. Ebe2 translated that to the leader. There was a long exchange of words between the two. Finally, Ebe2 told us that the leader would like us to go to another location and speak with another Eben, a doctor, about the body of 308. Ebe2 explained that everything we wanted to know about 308’s body would be explained to us by the doctor. I told Ebe2 that I would leave 899 and 754 here to guard the body. Ebe2 translated that to the leader. Again, there was a long, drawn-out exchange of words. Finally, Ebe2 stated that the leader would like all of us to leave this building and go to visit with the doctor. I told Ebe2, no, I would not leave the body of 308. I felt that this was going to be a confrontation. I told 518 and 420 to go back, obtain our handguns and come back ASAP. I was not going to allow the Ebens to countermand my decisions. When Ebe2 heard this, she told me to wait and placed her hand against my chest. I told her to translate that to the leader. Again, there were several minutes of word exchanges between the two. Ebe2 then stated that the leader would bring the doctor here. Ebe2 asked me to please don’t send your men for guns. Guns are not needed, we can settle this without guns. Please don’t. I told Ebe2 that we would not get the guns but we would not leave until we saw 308’s body.

About 20 minutes later, three Ebens showed up inside this building. One of the Ebens identified himself as a doctor. This doctor told us that 308’s body was not inside the container. The Ebens have done experiments with 308’s body, because they considered it an honor to have such a specimen to work with. The doctor told us they have used 308’s body to create a type of cloned human being. I stopped the doctor at this point. I told the doctor that the body of my teammate was the property of the United States of America, planet Earth. The body did not belong to the Ebens, and I did not authorize any experiments on the body of 308. I explained that humans consider a body to be religious. I demanded to see the body. This doctor explained the body was gone and that all the blood and organs were taken out and used to clone other beings. The word “beings” really scared me and the others. 899 became extremely angry. He called the doctor curse names. I ordered 899 to be quiet. I then told 203 to take 899 out of the building. I realized this matter could really blossom into a major incident. I could not allow that to happen. There were just eleven of us and we realized that if the Ebens wanted to imprison us or kill us, they could do it very easily. But I didn’t think the Ebens would resort to such behavior. I was not going to allow this incident to advance into something worse. I realized there wasn’t much we could do about what the Ebens have done with 308’s body.

Ebe2 looked upset. Ebe2 told me that everyone should be nice; she repeated the word “nice” many times. Ebe2 did not want this matter to escalate. I felt sorry for Ebe2. She was trying to mediate the matter. 203 suggested we return to our living quarters and have a team meeting. I told the leader that I did not want any further experiments with whatever is left of 308’s body. I pointed my finger toward the leader’s face. Ebe2 translated. Ebe2 then told me the leader was concerned that we were upset and promised that nothing further would happen. I thanked Ebe2 and had her relay that to the leader. We returned to our huts. Everyone was upset, especially 899. I told each member to calm down. We did not come forty light-years to start a war with the Ebens. A war we could not win. We have to realize our situation and act accordingly. I ordered each member to accept the facts about 308’s body.

Urban legend or not?
By Sasquatch
I've heard this story years ago about the interaction of extraterrestrial beings and a top secret segment in the US government. It was rumored that it was this event that inspired the final scene in"Close Encounters of the Third Kind". I bought the book because I heard the author on a talk show, and he sounded so pragmatic, that he impressed me to think that maybe there is something to this story after all. The author did not sound like a kook or an extremist. He was very non emotional, almost like an ex military spokesman with the monotone voice etc. I'm still not convinced, but something may have happened, because the story just will not go away. Sort of like Roswell. Where there is smoke, there is fire. This book is the smoke. What exactly the fire is, I don't know. But it is worth reading just for the sake of curiosity if nothing else.

SERPO, did it really happen?
By Robert M. Collins
Simple answer yes, since 1985 while at the Foreign Technology Division (FTD-WP) there were stories about an exchange program discussed inside the vault. Is the book right? Simple answer no, the book is taken directly from the SERPO Web Site.

Disinformation (defined as True/False, in this case mostly false) just like the Dan Burisch story about a sick alien, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Counter-intelligence pumping more disinformation into the public domain.

It's captivating and inspiring, but what is true?

1) Anon says: In making this plea, Anonymous is communicating to Martinez how important it is to leave the Commander's precise phraseology intact and to reproduce it exactly as he recorded it with incorrect spelling, grammar, and inconsistencies included. He understood that this diary must be given to posterity "warts and all."

False statement: no logs are put in a government document with all the errors. The logs like any rough draft are cleaned up before they are ever put in any official government document which makes all the logs suspect or disinformation. How it might sound doesn't make it true.

The human to alien conversations sound very much like human to human at a 5th grade level.

2) President Kennedy gave the official directive for the Eben exchange program. The date for the alien landing had been previously set for April 24, 1964, and the landing site was to be at the western border of Holloman Air Force Base,

False: the contact site wasn't Holloman, that was disinformation. It was the Trinity site. The Socorro incident (Lonnie Zamora, April 24, 1964) was where the aliens landed by mistake. And yes, JFK was very involved, that part is true and perhaps one of the reasons he was killed.

3) The primary training for the mission took place at Camp Peary, Virginia, on the York River near Williamsburg. This is the not-so-secret main CIA training location popularly known as "The Farm," but officially referred to as the Armed Forces Experimental Training Activity (AFETA). The project was assigned its own training complex within the larger facility, where it could impose its own secrecy and security within the already highly secure CIA system.

False: It was the NTS, the most secure site in the world. And EBE-2 was male not female. However, EBE-3 was female.

4) Travel: That means they traveled at about forty times the speed of light! It would be impossible to achieve that velocity with any known means of propulsion, no matter how exotic. The only explanation for this is time travel.

False and quite a glaring error by Anon which gives further doubts. If they really had inside knowledge then they would of known about the Alcubierre Warp drive which allows faster than light travel.

Objects cannot accelerate to the speed of light within normal space-time; instead, the Alcubierre drive shifts space around an object so that the object would arrive at its destination faster than light would in normal space. Time travel not needed.

5) False information: The dome covers the wedge of Element 115. Model designed by Robert Lazar and Ken Wright.

Element 115 was found to be very unstable and not on the Periodic Table even today. Lazar is a credible source but he was fed disinformation while at Area51/S4: see link in comment section.

6) NAZI Flying saucers? The mythology never ends. If the average reader would use common sense then ask yourself where are all those NAZI Flying saucers today? Why are we still flying rockets and Space Shuttles. Then planning missions to the asteroid belt and Mars using rockets. Again, where are those NAZI Flying saucers? Why were the NAZIs still developing V1 & V2 rockets if they had a functional anti-gravity device?

7) Crystal Rectangle fake information:

-FAKE: Our scientists have discovered the substance contained in the dot. The dot was found to be a perfectly rounded particle of charged (?) antimatter. Our scientists still don't understand how this piece of antimatter can remain stable until it is "tasked" with movement. They still don't understand once a demand is made to the CR, that the antimatter starts its movement and creates energy.

-THE FACTS: The CR device never uses antimatter. It extracts energy out of the vacuum using H5 as a catalyst, very unstable unless contained in the CR. And, the name Pentagen for H5 is fake.

-FAKE: When an energy demand is placed on the CR, it creates a signal, that can be measured at 23.450 MHZ. However, when increased demand is placed on the CR the frequency is modulated from 23.450 MHZ to 46.900 MHZ or double the original frequency. However, when the demand is reduced, the frequency drops to 1.25 KHZ, which is a constant frequency when no demand is placed on the CR. Regardless of what power demand is placed on the CR, the frequency NEVER raises to more than 46.900 MHZ!

-THE FACTS: The CR has no fixed frequency output. It adjust its output in volts, amperes and frequency based on the demand placed on it by any electronic device: voltage range is from millivolt to megavolts. The CR was utilized during Space Station construction. Reference: Exempt from Disclosure

You don't get an FBI investigation over fake documents (Defense Intelligence Agency TS/Code Word) in a publication. FBI to Kit Green, 'none of our business.' They didn't want to have another Wikileaks, NSA Snowden type scandal, this time over aliens.

8) Deep Space probes: half of the names are fake. See link in comment section for what's known.

9) Backed engineered alien craft: again, if we had working anti-gravity devices we sure wouldn't be flying rockets.

THE PROPULSION SYSTEM: The basic principles are simple in concept, but not in application (a very complex system says LANL) and why the prototypes never worked right.

In the movie INTERSTELLAR we still use rockets:

However, as of 2004 LANL sources have told me they are working on the problem but, having one hell of a time reverse engineering (ie, craft material not made on this Earth) and it's not some advanced rocket system.

Instead, it's called a Negative Force Generating System or anti-gravity. Anti-gravity is Negative Energy like Dark Energy and can do a number of things like:

1) Create an Alcubierre Warp Drive which can move an Interstellar Spaceship 100s of times faster than the speed of light...see link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive

2) Open Wormholes and keeps them open. Wormholes require negative energy ...only be possible if exotic matter (in this case, anti-gravity) with negative energy density could be used to stabilize them.

3) The Space-time bubble created by negative energy puts you in a different space-time and could allow the Spaceship to pass through solid obstacles like we see Ufos pass through mountains, doors not needed!

For what might be true see Rick Doty's discussion on SERPO in the comment section.

There is more, but the high points were covered: so, did SERPO really happen? Sure it did but not the way our DIA fantasy prone Anon source depicts to the world.

Perhaps someday we might see those 3000 pages locked up in the Ft Belvoir Vault or other places, who knows.

Good read for a tale
By Don Kelley
The first 50+% of the book is captivating to keep you motivated... Then it turns into a tale. At that point I pondered where is the proof? well, there is none really, other than a story that no one can confirm.

In the tale, a member enroute to Serpo dies of a PE, but there is no body, no exam by the teams doctors to prove it, but it is sold as fact. The last 50% or so, at times become just too convenient to be convincing. Is it really a true story? this tale surely did not convince me enough.

Good read, good price, but lacking enough substance to want me to read it again.

From formulation to implementation, an approach to the analysis of social policy through the lens of research

Analyzing Social Policy prepares professionals and students to make better informed decisions related to identifying and understanding the intricacies and potential impact of social policymaking and enactment on their organization as well as their individual responsibilities, goals, and objectives.

Authors Mary Katherine O'Connor and F. Ellen Netting thoroughly examine various approaches to the analysis of social policies and how these approaches provide the knowledge, multiple perspectives, and other resources to understand and grasp the nuances of social policy in all its complexity.

Comprehensive and based on research, Analyzing Social Policy explores:

  • An overview of the practice of social policy analysis

  • The role of research in guiding policy analysis

  • The idea of policy analyses as research

  • Themes, assumptions, and major theories that undergird rational models of policy analysis

  • Nonrational themes, assumptions, and major theories informing nontraditional interpretive and critical approaches to policy analysis

  • Strategies for applying selected models and approaches when engaging in policy analysis as research

Providing practitioners and students with a set of tools that can be used to enhance an understanding of what constitutes policy as well as acceptable standards for critical analysis of policy, this resource enables policy advocates—regardless of their level—to be political, strategic, and critical in their work.

Are policing and security forms of social policy amenable to evidence-based policy analysis?
By David Last
O’Connor and Netting are both professors in schools of social work, with backgrounds in sociology and practical experience of social work, including the Peace Corps in O’Connor’s case. What interested me about this book was not just the analytical tools, but the variety of approaches to policy analysis. I was struck by the idea that policing and security could be viewed as social policy. If security policy were analyzed as a social policy using some of these tools, I think it would be instructive. Basic policy analysis questions all apply: how is the policy formulated, how is it initiated, implemented, disseminated, and with what impact? What is the policy-practice link? what are the opportunity costs and unintended consequences? In fact, police and military are mentioned only tangentially, and police and military policy are not touched upon at all, but the tools are no less relevant for that. The overview defines rational, non-rational, and critical approachs, as well as level and scope of policies and tools for assessing them. Treating policy analysis as research (ch. 2) permits any number of systematic frameworks, opening up a lot of alternative methods, rather than a single “policy analysis” toolkit (as in some of the policy-evaluation texts, like Weiss, 1997, or Nagel, 2001). Three pairs of chapters address rational, non-rational, and critical policy analysis and their applications. Rational policy analysis assumes a single objective truth and utility-maximizing behaviour. Non-rational policy analysis assumes alternative narratives, so it isn’t possible to see why people choose to do what they do unless you understand their world-view, and different world-views push the effects of policies in different directions. Critical policy analysis assumes oppression and the need for social restructuring to achieve emancipation. In the applications chapters (4, 6, and 8), there are five analytical models for each form of policy analysis. For rational policy analysis, there are Chambers and Wedel, Janssen, Huttman, Holcomb and Nightingale, and Segal and Buzuzy. For non-rational policy analysis: Stone’s policy paradox, the UK’s “primeval soup” or garbage can model, Prigmore and Atherton, Guba’s “policy in action”, and impact analysis. Finally, for critical policy analysis, there’s Marxist historical dialectic, cultural responsiveness, Lejano’s normative model, Moser’s gender model, and Schiele’s afro-centric model. 15 different models is a lot to choose from. Now imagine for a moment that counter-insurgency is just a social policy in which a government (or an external agent) is trying to implement social and cultural change - it is a set of social policies, that can be analyzed using a variety of different models or tools. I haven’t worked it through, but I think this might be a really interesting approach to campaign evaluation. I wonder if any of the models have been applied to policing alternatives?

Praise for the first edition:"Although O'Reilly's Nutshell series are intended as 'DesktopReference' manuals, I have to recommend this one as a goodall-round read; not only as a primer for LPI certification, but as anexcellent introductory text on GNU/Linux. In all, this is a valuableaddition toO'Reilly's already packed stable of Linux titles and I look forward tomore from the author."--First Monday

Review
"...is characteristically O'Reilly through and through - vastly detailed, confidently written and not dressed up with too many screenshots or wild page designs. Although Linux Certifcation...is structured as a front-to-back read, mirroring the order of the LPIC topics, it also features page markings to help you use it as a quick reference guide when you've worked through it. The book shows you how to prepare for the LPIC exams, with exercises and examples galore, plus a host of massively useful practice exams to give you a taste of the real thing... O'Reilly's book is a monster, covering everything in great depth, and even though it's a bit costly it's worth the price given the exhaustive coverage therein. Just don't expect any kind of entertainment along the way - it's all very serious stuff." Verdict: A bulging, desk-warping behemoth of a book, tackling LPIC topics with clarity and excellent details. Rating: 9/10 - Mike Saunders, Linux Format, May 2007

Very good book, but incomplete, explanation on the review
By faraumont
Let's begin with the results, I passed both 101 and 102 exams and got my LPI 1 last month studying mainly this book.
Let me say again that this is a very good book. It is very well written and all topics are easy to understand to anyone with some previous knowledge of computers in general and the Linux operating system.
Now, the explanation to why I said it is incomplete. It simply does not cover every command and configuration file that may be asked about on the exams. There were some of them on my exams that the book didn't even mention. Given the broadth and changing of the subjects covered by the exams, I admit that covering everything is a very difficult task. So, the warning stays to anyone in the process of studying, if it is related to the topics asked by LPI but the book does not say anything about it, don't assume it won't be asked about, because it may.

Good luck to all and congratulations to the authors.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
By Micah J. Miller
I am preparing for the LPI level one test and picked up this guide as a study reference. Overall, the quality of this book is outstanding and the material is presented in way that made it very easy to digest. I've broken the highlights down into three categories.
1. Good - Excellent explanation of the topics in the books. There were very few items I had to go to other sources from. The way this book is set up makes it great as a study guide or for future reference. Even if I wasn't going to take the test, I'd still keep this one within arms reach.
2. Bad - LPI has restructured their tests. This means that some of the 102 test topics are now in the 101 test. Make sure you get the correct list of study topics directly from LPI to ensure you are preparing for the correct subjects. Since these changes were made quite a while ago, I would have hoped that O'Reilly would have come up with a new version, but no luck.
3. UGLY - Several topics were not covered at all in the book. This is really dissapointing for me as I've always respected the O'Reilly books and found them to be way above par. But don't take my word for it. You can locate the missing parts by comparing the T-O-C and the LPI site
Overall, this is a great book. If you are currently a system administrator or work with Linux often, this matierial should be easy to pick up and understand. The book has in depth coverage along with a "Highlighters Index" for quick reviews and sample tests to help you prepare.
