IOANNIS KANELLAKOPOULOS received his PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois in 1992 and is presently an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles.

PETAR KOKOTOVI has been Co-Director of the Center for Control Engineering and Computation at the University of California, Santa Barbara, since 1991. Previously, he was with the University of Illinois, where he held the Grainger Chair. His recognition as a leading authority in control theory includes the triennial Quazza Medal by IFAC in 1990 and the 1995 IEEE Control Systems Award.

A new book is a new book, not a one with deteriorated quality of the outer sides as a result of 18 years of moving on the bookstore shelves. A book which is not new is not new.

The real state of the book should be declared and not hidden because this is a lie.

I see that the book has not been used for reading but it has some shelf wear and contamination on the outer sides. This book is very important for me and wanted it in perfect quality for which I paid, that's why I am not satisfied.

The authority of Amazon and co-sellers depends on telling the truth to the customer and not sending lies.

About the Author
The identity of the author is as much a mystery as the plots of the novels. Two dozen novels were published from 1924 to 1944 as by Archibald Fielding, A. E. Fielding, or Archibald E. Fielding, yet the only clue as to the real author is a comment by the American publishers, H.C. Kinsey Co. that A. E. Fielding was in reality a “middle-aged English woman by the name of Dorothy Feilding whose peacetime address is Sheffield Terrace, Kensington, London, and who enjoys gardening.” Research on the part of John Herrington has uncovered a person by that name living at 2 Sheffield Terrace from 1932-1936. She appears to have moved to Islington in 1937 after which she disappears. To complicate things, some have attributed the authorship to Lady Dorothy Mary Evelyn Moore nee Feilding (1889-1935), however, a grandson of Lady Dorothy denied any family knowledge of such authorship. The archivist at Collins, the British publisher, reports that any records of A. Fielding were presumably lost during WWII. Birthdates have been given variously as 1884, 1889, and 1900. Unless new information comes to light, it would appear that the real authorship must remain a mystery.

Horrid Editing by Publisher

This review is for the paperback reprint of "The Westwood Mystery" (author A.E. Fielding) by "Resurrected Press". This is my fourth review of reprints by Resurrected Press of the A.E. Fielding books. The mystery is another good A. E. Fielding mystery, with Chief Inspector Pointer as an excellent character, BUT the editing of this edition is appallingly horrid. Again, it appears that the original hardbound book was scanned, but the publisher's OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software is not of high quality AND there has been no assurance via editing to assure that the book is the same as the original work. There are extra words, incorrect words (major problems with prepositions), missing words, wrong words (rest assured becomes re-assured), misspelled words, sentences ending in the middle, extra periods, missing periods, and even the butler, Mr. Tukes, becomes Mr. "Pukes". If you can get through the horrid editing, the mystery is a good mystery with a very novel ending.
After reading one original hardbound mystery (old hardbound book) by A. E. Fielding, and finding the mystery to be an excellent mystery and excellently written, I bought 11 of these reprints from Amazon because I could not find the originals. This is the fourth of the 11 which I have read and I will continue to review the remaining reprints when I have finished reading them. It is truly a bad reflection on the publishing industry when a publisher does not care about correct scanning of the old classical books. I, personally, will never buy another book that has been published by this publisher. It's hard to believe that others actually read these reprints and provide good reviews without mentioning the multitude of errors.

Too many clues! A most challenging mystery.

Actually, 3 1/2 stars. It was slow to start with two different plots going and then the KC (I believe it stands for Kings Counsel?) is murdered. There are way too many clues that don't make any sense at first. Then a third plot appears - the French connection! And finally the first plot and the murder plot start to come together. It's a bit rambling, I think, but our intrepid detective finds his way and -Saves the day! And brings the murderer, if not to justice then at least to light. If you have time, the clues are all there...except that one...

SUCH GOOD MYSTERIES

I really enjoy these mysteries. And they're truly indicative of the word, mystery There are very few authors I have read who can style one of these without throwing in so much unnecessary "action." These are true mysteries in which one must THINK about who was murdered and then why it happened. Fascinating writing. Horrible editing on these books, however. Typos are in extreme abundance, which is often quite annoying.

Andrea Palladio is universally regarded as one of the most important architects of the Re-naissance. This book documents and analyzes ten of Palladios eighteen surviving villas specifically in terms of their relationship with their natural surroundings; their influence on those surroundings is investigated as well. The selected villas constitute a representative cross section of Palladios wide-ranging output. The landscape formations of Veneto, where these villas are located, may be divided into three types: plains surrounded by mountains, arid plains, and marshland. Gerrit Smienk is a landscape architect with many years teaching experience at the TU Delft and the Berlage Institute, Rotterdam, and is a recognized expert on the Italian Renaissance. Like no other book that I've read on the work of the Italian architect Andrea Palladio, this brilliant book discusses his buildings in relation to their place in the Veneto landscape. With the assistance of a host of students at the Faculty of Architecture at the TU Delft, and various architects and their assistants, and aerial photographers, and the owners and managers of the villas they examined, Gerrit Smienk and Johannes Niemeijer have produced a thoughtful, readable, and elegantly illustrated piece of analytical research that should find its way into the bookshelves of serious architects and landscape architects everywhere. In choosing to limit their focus to only ten of Palladio's well-known agricultural villas, Smienk and Neimeijer nevertheless cover a world of ground. The chapter headings alone suggest the scope of their undertaking: The Re-creation of the Venetian Terraferma, Ten Selected Villas, The Agricultural Villa as Model Farm, The Villa in a Production Landscape. But it is in the drawings and photographs that the book sings: photographs from the air and from the ground and within the buildings and in the gardens, site diagrams and more detailed site plans, exploded axonometrics, building plans, elevations and cross-sections, original material and carefully constructed modern drawings---each building within its unique setting is examined in such detail that the reader feels himself there at the scene, in the hands of an inspired and expert interpreter. If you have any interest at all in the broader aspects of the architecture of Andrea Palladio, or in the question of how it is that, in the final analysis, all good buildings draw their abiding character from the unique quality of their settings, then this is a book you will not wish to be without. As for me, I'm headed off to the Veneto as soon as spring rolls around!

Energy Levels Explained At Length !

The Energy of Abundance is a wonderful book which explains the dynamics of energy forces.The Energy Game is explained in the beginning of the book by demonstrating high level frequencies (joy, peace), mid-level frequencies (optimism, positivity) and low level frequencies; such as, anger, frustration and fear.The low level features are essentially the philosophical negations.

There are interesting chapters which explain birth and death. For instance, many people envision bright lights and the famous tunnel as the death experience approaches. Nurse personnel have observed a distinctive golden orb at the exact moment of death. Essentially, the physical body undergoes a huge transformation from a 100+ pound body to an electrical orb weighing about an ounce or less.

The author discusses healing toward the end of the book. Healing requires continuous movement, sensible food choices, adequate rest, managing stress and honoring our bodies rather than engaging in self-hatred or loathing.

Overall, Phyllis King's book is an important milestone for learning the dynamics of life, death and the impending afterlife experience.

This is an excellent work on the types of energy in one's life. A great addition to understanding the energies flowing through your life. Will add great insights if you have been doing energy studies.

Get Ready for Lots of A-Ha Moments! Great Book!

You can always count of Phyllis to "tell it like it is", but with such kindness, compassion, and love. The truths contained in this book really resonated with me and I love how Phyllis broke down important life issues into compelling chapters, stories and lessons. When you read this book, you'll have lots of "a-ha" moments that cause you to re-examine your life to date. You'll see the meaning behind your experiences and feel empowered as you move forward. I genuinely enjoyed this book and the fact that it was so easy to understand and practical. Sometimes, texts in this genre can be so hard to read or filled with jargon. This is an easy read with lasting impact - I read it in one night - could not put it down.
